I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May 2011 with a BA in Television with a concentration in writing and producing.
I am a proud Mexicana that's not afraid to wear botas & sombrero and why not belt out a Grito Ranchero here and there.
As my Facebook, Twitter, and email might suggest, I Love TV! @LiaLovesTV
I am obsessed with TV/Film and all entertainment in general. I love all genres of Music. I love me some Beatles but love to dance to my Banda! I love to cry to a good drama and laugh at a great 30 Rock. I'll hear and watch just about anything.
I love to write! I have been writing since the age of eight. I started off by writing poems and eventually lead to short stories and writing for my high school newspaper. In High School I was also part of the Advanced Television Program where I won an Excellence in Television Production Award in 2007.
At Columbia I was a producer/editor at its student run station, Frequency TV where created a series on the 26th Chicago Latino Film Festival that got me nominated for a Midwest Emmy! Here I was also proud founder and president of Students Helping Humanity, a community service and awareness organization.
Today I babysit my sister full-time, take improv at Second City, and Teach Improv to Children with The Laughing Academy in Glenview. All while also looking for a full time job!

Of course as any Amy Poehler fan I am very excited for this! Our favorite SNL veteran & Parks and Recreation actress is ready to dish out some laughs and I’m ready to read! Pretty Street Books will publish Poehlers first book “Yes, Please” on October 28, 2014. Poehler will write about various topics such as friendship, parenting, and advice on love and life, and all done with her inimitable wit.
I want to thank everyone who has supported me in the last 20 days! I’m so grateful to be a Johnson and Johnson’s Champions of Care finalist. I am also grateful from all the support I’m receiving from family, friends and even strangers.

On Friday February 28, 2014 I had a dream come true. I got to meet the ever so talented Puerto Rican Actress Adamari Lopez. Those who know of her know her talents in the many roles she has played in telenovelas in Mexico. Growing up I always looked up to her and still do. Adamari has an inspiring success story that evolved and changed after she was diagnosed with breast cancer years ago. Today she is a morning host to Telemundo’s Un Nuevo Dia, of which I watch every morning because of her. Meeting Adamari just made my dreams more clear. I would love to be as inspiring Latina that she is. She is so humble and down to earth. Hay pocas como ella!!
Gracias Adamari por ser como eres! Nunca cambies!
Congratulations to Gravity for taking 7 win out of 10 Nominations. A BIG CONGRATS to Alfonso Cuaron for winning Best Director. Cuaron is the first Latino/Mexican to win this award! I’m so proud! Now as filmmakers we have big shoes to fill! VIVA MEXICO! QUE ORGULLO!

Cesar Chavez was truly a groundbreaking Mexican-American activist who fought for the rights of farm workers in the 1960s. A movie directed by Diego Luna (Y tu mama tambien) is coming out starring Michael Peña as Chavez and his screen wife America Ferrera.
